Electronic combination lock
Ease of use and a wide range of functions make this lock mechanism one of the most popular locking variants for safes. At the same time, it is worth noting that, thanks to continuous technical developments, the electronic combination lock is now considered one of the most secure locking systems for safes.
Functions
Due to the software built into the electronic combination lock, numerous functions can be integrated. The electronic combination lock we use has a master code that can be used in an emergency. In addition, depending on the lock version, multiple user codes can be created, allowing several people to access the safe, each with their own individual code.
If the battery voltage drops to a level where only a limited number of opening and closing operations are possible, an acoustic signal will inform you of the voltage status so that you can replace the battery in good time. Depending on the lock type, if the battery is completely discharged, the lock can either be powered from the outside with a 9-volt block battery, or you can remove the keypad and provide power to the lock on the back with a 9-volt block battery. Find out more at Opening a safe when the battery is empty.
Technical information
An electronic combination lock consists of two main components: the locking unit and the digit unit or keypad.
The software and the locking mechanism are housed exclusively in the locking unit, while the security-relevant components are installed deep inside the safe. The digit unit itself is attached to the outside. In the event of wear or a defect, this component can be easily replaced (even when the safe is locked).

What to do in case of a defect
In the event of complete discharge, the lock can be externally powered from the outside. You can find detailed instructions with a video at Opening a safe when the battery is empty.
If the problem cannot be resolved this way, the Bremer Tresor consulting and service team is always at your disposal. You can find our contact form under Safe repair.
