Areas of use
A safe with a deposit slot is only relevant for private use in a few cases: the main areas of use include hotels, banks, petrol stations, the retail sector and the gastronomy sector. For example, it is possible to deposit cash into the safe via the slot, while an anti-fishing device effectively prevents it from being removed without opening the safe. Such a safe is also frequently used as a so-called "night safe", which allows money to be secured in it even outside of business hours.
Installing the safe
Depending on the specific purpose, you should position the safe with a deposit slot in a way that it is protected from customer view while remaining easily accessible to every employee. To ensure high security, it must be permanently mounted. The best way to do this is by using a stable anchor to the floor and/or wall. All mounting points of the safe with a deposit slot should be used. This reliably prevents the safe from being stolen along with its contents.
Lock variants
Every locking system has its individual advantages and disadvantages. We are happy to advise you before you buy on which type of lock is most suitable for your individual case. Options include, among others:
- The classic double-bit key lock: Thanks to the corresponding key, no code is required to open the safe. A disadvantage: the key must be kept in a secure place at all times and must not be lost.
- The high-quality electronic combination lock: This provides maximum protection for your deposit safe through the numeric combination. The key cannot be passed on or lost. Technical wear, such as a dead battery, can be easily resolved from the outside while the safe is locked.
Security levels and resistance grades
You can find information about the certifications of your deposit safe on the inside of the safe door. The higher the security level or resistance grade, the better protected the contents of the safe are. Our basic model is the Triton, with a security level of S1 according to EN 14450 and construction type A according to VDMA 24992. A safe with a higher certification qualifies for higher insurance coverage. For example, the maximum insurance coverage for a safe with resistance grade D1 according to EN 1143-2 for commercial use is €20,000, while for a safe with resistance grade D2 according to EN 1143-2, it is already €50,000. This value can generally be doubled if a VdS-certified intruder alarm system (IAS) is used.
