Questions before purchasing
Since we at Bremer Tresor offer you a large selection of safes in various sizes and with different features, please ask yourself the following questions first. They will help you with your selection:
- What valuables will I be storing in this safe now and in the future?
- Will I be using the safe for private or commercial purposes?
- What security rating do I need to insure these valuables?
- Will papers and data storage media also be kept in the safe?
- Should my safe be fireproof?
- What external dimensions (hxwxd) is the safe allowed to have?
- Do I need a shelf for smaller or narrower items (passports, data media)?
- How often will I be opening the safe?
- Will I be the only one with access to the safe, or should others be able to access it too?
Models
Since you can order our safes in various dimensions (external and internal dimensions), it is important for you to know which items you will be storing. The answer will tell you which and how many shelves you need, what volume your safe should have, and whether it requires larger or smaller compartments for good organization.
Our safes are generally locked with a key lock, and you will receive two double-bit security keys from us. If the group of people who are to have access is larger, it is advisable to invest in an electronic combination lock. We can install this directly or replace it at a later date.
- Key lock (standard)
- Installed as standard, including two double-bit security keys.
- Electronic combination lock (optional)
- Recommended for a larger group of users – can be installed directly or retrofitted later.
Security rating
The deciding factor for the security rating, also known as the security level you require, is the value of the items you intend to store in the safe. If you use your safe for private purposes, the safes can be insured for higher amounts than for commercial use. It is best to check with your insurance provider beforehand.
We offer you safes in security ratings VdS 2450 or EN 1143-1 from Grade N/0 to Grade 6, as well as Grade S1 and Grade S2 according to EN 14450.
- Resistance grades according to
EN 1143-1 - Grade N/0 to Grade 6 (VdS 2450)
- Security levels according to
EN 14450 - Grade S1 and Grade S2
Fire protection
A fireproof safe protects your valuables not only during a fire but also against extreme heat. If you plan to store data media or paper documents in your safe, the safe should have a higher fire protection class, such as S60 according to EN 1047-1. This ensures that data media and documents are optimally protected against fire and destruction by heat.
Service
For questions about safes and security vaults, we are your competent contact partner: from expert advice to discreet delivery and installation, all the way to emergency openings, repairs, and relocations, you can count on us.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
None. "Safe" is the English word, "Tresor" is the German word
Burglary-resistant safes are tested according to EN 1143-1 and are assigned a resistance grade. Security cabinets are tested according to EN 14450 and are assigned a security level of S1 or S2. These are two different standards and not synonyms
By the test label in the door rebate. It specifies the standard, class, and the institute, such as VdS or ECB-S. Without a label, there is no recognized class and therefore no insurance coverage.
