Key facts about the Minos Grade 1 vault door
Vault doors with a Grade 1 resistance level from the Minos series by Bremer Tresor promise high security through extensive quality testing. The vault doors have been tested and certified by official ECB-S and VdS testing institutes according to EN 1143-1 standards. Due to the Grade 1 certification, the doors ensure a high level of burglary protection and offer you the possibility of insuring valuables up to a guideline value of €65,000.00, as set by the insurance industry. Please note: This insurance sum refers to private use. For commercial use, the insurance sum amounts to €20,000.00. The insurer decides on the actual insurance sum on a case-by-case basis.
Furthermore, vault doors with a Grade 1 resistance level feature certified fire protection. For the LFS 30 P fire protection rating, a 30-minute fire test in a fire chamber with flames exceeding 1000 °C is required. Thus, a Grade 1 vault door not only protects against unauthorized entry but also prevents the spread of a fire.
In order to achieve the Grade 1 resistance level according to EN 1143-1 and the LFS 30 P fire protection according to ECB-S and VdS guidelines, the door and frame are constructed with multiple walls. This multi-walled design provides a high level of burglary protection while simultaneously offering good thermal insulation in the event of a fire. The thickness of the Grade 1 vault door is 104 mm.
Various areas of application
A Grade 1 vault door can be useful for all conceivable purposes and requirements. The Grade 1 resistance level according to EN 1143-1 ensures that breaching the vault door is impossible to a certain degree. Thus, rooms, passageways, or entrances and exits can be secured. The following areas of application are common practices:
- As a passage door: Since you have the option to equip our Grade 1 vault door with a two-sided lock system, the vault door can be used as a passage door. This allows the door to be opened and closed from both sides using a numeric code on an electronic lock. This enables you to determine which individuals have access to specific areas of your office, research center, or home. A Grade 1 vault door is also useful for burglary protection; for example, you could secure your bedroom and protect the doorway against nighttime intruders.
- As a server room: Vault doors are also frequently used to secure server rooms. This allows your entire server system to be housed in one room and secured by a Grade 1 vault door. It effectively counteracts data theft, destruction through vandalism, and loss due to fire: the perfect combination of burglary protection and fire safety. Please ensure that you provide ventilation if the server is to run with the door closed.
- As a file room: Creating a file room with a Grade 1 vault door offers similar advantages to those of a server room. Important documents can thus be protected from unauthorized access. Furthermore, the Grade 1 vault door also allows for the protection of documents against encroaching flames due to its fire protection properties.
- As a valuables room: Vault doors are also used as doors for valuables rooms. Thanks to the Grade 1 resistance level, a certain level of insurance coverage is provided, allowing you to choose a valuables room instead of a safe. A valuables room secured by a Grade 1 vault door is often used for private galleries, as works of art can be better displayed there than in a safe.
- As a gun room: Since firearms must be stored in Grade N/0 or 1 gun safes, gun enthusiasts alternatively purchase a Grade 1 gun room door to create a private armory. This can save you the cost of purchasing a gun safe.
