Anchoring material for safes
Two sets, tailored to your safe's standard
We offer anchoring materials in two versions. Which one you need depends on the standard to which your safe is certified. This standard is indicated on the type plate inside the door.
| Set | For | Indicated on the type plate |
|---|---|---|
| Anchoring material for EN 14450 | Security cabinets | Security level S1 or S2 |
| Anchoring material for EN 1143-1 | High-security safes | Resistance grade 0 to 6 |
The two standards describe different testing procedures, and safes differ accordingly in wall thickness and base design. For this reason, the material is provided to match these specifications rather than as a one-size-fits-all solution. You can find out what these terms mean in our guide to security levels and resistance grades.
What is included in the set
| Component | Specification |
|---|---|
| Metal expansion anchor | for bonding in concrete |
| Drop-in anchor | MKT type EM 12x50 |
| Setting bolt | matches the anchor |
| Heavy-duty anchor | tensile and tear strength grade 8.8 |
| Thread | M12, for 14mm open-end wrench or socket |
The grade 8.8 is the crucial specification. It describes the tensile and tear strength of the anchor and is the reason why standard hardware store dowels are insufficient here. An anchor that gives way under tension makes the entire fastening worthless.
Two details we need from you
The length of the anchor is not the same for all sets. It is determined by your safe model and the thickness of the floor or wall into which it is being anchored. Provide us with both when placing your order, and you will receive the correct length immediately, avoiding the need for reordering.
Do it yourself or have it done
If you have experience with a rotary hammer and heavy-duty anchors and are dealing with a concrete floor, you will be able to handle the set on your own. You will need a rotary hammer with a suitable drill bit, a hammer, and a 14mm open-end wrench or socket.
In all other cases, we will handle this as part of the delivery. Details on what is included can be found in the guide on delivery and installation services. Which location is suitable and what to consider regarding the floor surface and floor level is covered in the guide to the installation site.
If your safe is on a plinth, this does not change the material requirements. The plinth comes with its own hole in the base and is secured there; the safe is then bolted to the plinth from the inside.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
This depends on your safe's standard, which is stated on the type plate inside the door. Security cabinets have a safety level according to EN 14450, while armored safes have a resistance grade according to EN 1143-1. There is a separate set for each standard.
Metal expansion anchors, MKT EM 12x50 type drop-in anchors, drive pins, heavy-duty anchors with a tensile and tear strength of grade 8.8, and an M12 thread that can be tightened with a 14mm open-end wrench or socket.
This depends on your safe model and the thickness of the floor or wall. Please provide us with both details when ordering, and we will supply the appropriate length accordingly.
Because of the tensile and tear strength. Grade 8.8 describes precisely this value. An anchor that gives way under tension renders the entire fastening useless.
A rotary hammer with a suitable drill bit, a hammer, and a 14mm open-end wrench or socket. Nothing else is needed to set the anchors.
No. The pedestal comes with its own floor drill holes and is fastened there
