Cash bomb: securely transporting cash to the safe
What a cash capsule is and what it is used for
A cash capsule is a compact aluminum capsule with a screw-on lid. Banknotes are rolled up and placed inside, the lid is closed, and the capsule is placed in the safe. The screw-on lid protects the contents and prevents the capsule from opening by itself during transit.
The name is misleading; it is not a safe, but a transport container. Its purpose is the transfer of funds: takings travel from the point of sale into the capsule, and from there into the deposit safe or to the bank, without anyone needing to count notes or carry them openly while on the move.
Three typical applications
In a deposit safe, the cash capsule acts as the link between the cash register and the safe. The cashier inserts the capsule without having access to the contents. In a tube safe or floor safe, it performs a different task: it keeps the contents together and clean, ensuring that nothing slips or gets jammed in the narrow shaft.
What to look for when buying
The decisive dimension is the diameter. It must fit the deposit slot or the shaft of your safe, otherwise even the best capsule is of no use. Our cash capsule measures 4.5 x 8.3 centimeters and is thus designed for standard tube and deposit systems.
Second point: Expect to need more than one capsule. If you settle your accounts daily, you need one in circulation and one on hand. In practice, it makes sense to keep a small supply so that a transfer is never delayed due to a lack of containers.
Cash capsule, cash box, or safe?
These three are often confused, even though they have different functions:
| Solution | Function | Protection |
|---|---|---|
| Cash capsule | Transport and deposit | Privacy and containment, no break-in protection |
| Cash box | Organization at the register | lockable, for daily use |
| Cash safe | Overnight storage | certified break-in protection according to standards |
Therefore, a cash capsule does not replace a safe. It is the tool used to ensure cash safely reaches the inside of the safe.

No. It provides privacy and keeps the contents together, but offers no certified burglary protection. For overnight storage, you need a certified safe.
If you reconcile daily, you should have at least two: one in circulation and one ready for use. This way, the handover is never delayed by a missing container.
