Wall safes resistance grade 1
Our wall safes, also known as security cabinets, are concreted into the wall. Such a security cabinet will be surrounded by 10 cm of concrete on all sides (except for the door). Installation is recommended during new construction or renovations.
Therefore, you should ask yourself the following questions:
- Which valuables would I like to store in the VdS Class 1 wall safe, now and in the near future?
- Will I also be storing documents or data media there?
- How often will I be opening the wall safe?
Based on your answers, you can consider which external dimensions (HxWxD) and weight must be taken into account during installation. You can also specify the details of the security cabinet: internal dimensions (in mm), number of shelves, and their adjustability.
Wall safes offer you several advantages:
- Due to the installation, they cannot be stolen and are very secure.
- Wall safes are extremely discreet and can be hidden in niches or under stairs.
- They are installed flush with the wall.
- These safes are characterized by space-saving, retractable locking systems.
- No protruding door hinges or handles are noticeable.
Locking systems
All safes from Bremer Tresor are equipped with a double-bit lock with a key. If you would like to increase security in this regard as well, we recommend an electronic combination lock. The advantage of these locking systems is that you cannot lose the key. Furthermore, it is possible to easily and clearly increase the number of people who have access to your safe.
Resistance grade
Tests according to EN 1143-1 are conducted by independent testing institutes such as ECB-S and VdS. The safes are subjected to professional mechanical (e.g., crowbars) and thermal (e.g., cutting torches) burglary tools. A safe with resistance grade 1 has a resistance value of 30/50 RU (Resistance Unit). 30 RU means that 30 units were required for a partial breach or partial access. Additionally, 50 units were necessary for a full breach.
As a guideline for the insurance industry, the contents of wall safes with resistance grade 1 according to EN 1143-1 can be insured for up to €65,000 in a private setting and up to €20,000 in a commercial setting. The insurer decides on the actual sum insured on a case-by-case basis.
Fire protection
Fire protection can be of interest to you not only in the event of a fire; fireproof safes also protect your valuables from high temperatures. Since data media react more sensitively to high temperatures than paper, a higher level of fire protection is necessary for them, e.g., S60DIS according to EN 1047-1.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
A recognized certification according to EN 1143-1, which allows for a higher insurance coverage amount than that of simple wall safes.
A load-bearing wall made of solid masonry or concrete with sufficient remaining depth. Lightweight partition walls are not suitable, as the masonry there contributes nothing to the protective effect.
