For cigarettes: Certified safes with high volume
Whether at a gas station, supermarket, or kiosk, cigarettes should be stored in at least a lightweight safe. Due to rising cigarette prices, they have long been considered a sought-after target for theft. They are easy to transport, often easily accessible, and can be easily sold on the black market.
Bremer Tresor, in cooperation with several insurance companies, has developed a security concept for the storage of cigarettes. We recommend storing them in a steel cabinet that is certified to at least security level S1 according to EN 14450.
Are cigarettes a target for theft?
Definitely yes. Cigarettes are considered a popular target for theft. They are easy to transport and often easily accessible. Furthermore, the motivation increases every year due to rising prices and the resulting value on the black market. In January 2021, for example, a supermarket in Wegscheid was burglarized. In addition to cash, the perpetrators stole cigarettes worth more than 25,000 euros (Source: Wochenblatt).

S1 is designed for consumer goods and secures standard shop and reserve stock. If the value is significantly higher or your insurer requires a specific sum, a safe according to EN 1143-1 is the appropriate level. We will calculate this with you.
In the warehouse or back office, not in the sales area. A load-bearing surface and secure anchoring are important so that the cabinet cannot be taken away as a whole.
Yes. The same models are suitable for spirits, small electronics, spare parts, and anything that is compact and high-priced.
