Start the Safe FinderSafes in Dresden: Collections, heirlooms, and one-of-a-kind items
We receive an above-average number of inquiries regarding collections from Dresden and Saxony: coins, watches, porcelain, family jewelry, and occasionally art on paper. This differs from the typical safe purchase, as a collector's item cannot be replaced. Where cash is just money, an heirloom is gone once it is lost.
This results in two simultaneous requirements. The safe must be able to withstand a break-in attempt, measured by its resistance grade according to EN 1143-1, and it should protect the contents from fire and moisture, as paper, photos, and metal are particularly sensitive to these.

How to store a collection in a safe
- Pull-out trays instead of shelves, so that coin cases and jewelry trays can be pulled out individually without disturbing the ones above.
- Felt or velvet lining, to ensure that edges and surfaces do not suffer when being put in or taken out.
- Sufficient interior height for watch boxes and flat cases; better to have one compartment too many than one too few.
- Desiccants or dehumidifiers, if the safe is located in a basement or semi-basement. Silver tarnishes, paper warps; both start with consistently high humidity.
Collections grow, safes do not
The most frequent follow-up purchase in this group does not arise from damage, but from a lack of space. Anyone who has a half-full drawer today will fill it in a few years. Because a second unit means repeat delivery and anchoring costs, the larger version is almost always the more cost-effective decision.
A second point concerns the insurance coverage. If the value of the collection grows, the approved coverage amount of the existing safe may eventually no longer suffice. Check this every few years with your insurance provider before the need arises.
Delivery to Dresden and Saxony
It is around 470 kilometers from Bremen to Dresden. We deliver using our own transport department, upon request to the point of installation, over stairs, and with anchoring. Models under 1,000 kilograms must be anchored, otherwise the insurance coverage does not apply. For older buildings, we inspect the path and the floor in advance.
Not sure yet which classification your collection needs? The Safe Finder narrows it down, and a personal consultation clarifies the rest.
