Certification

Security levels

The security levels or classes of security safes and vaults are certifications that explain the break-in protection in greater detail. Among other things, they define the composition of the walls, doors, and body of the safe, thus ensuring a uniform overview and pan-European standards. In this context, one also refers to the resistance grade of a safe: safes according to EN 1143-1 are checked, for example, in an extensive test procedure, and the times for a partial or full breakthrough as well as the required burglary tools are encoded as a resistance value (in the unit RU = Resistance Unit).

If you wish to store items in your security safe and have them insured (for private or commercial use), you must select the appropriate security level. Valuables in a security level N/0 safe can be insured for up to 40,000 EUR for private use and 10,000 EUR for commercial use. Therefore, please contact your insurer before purchasing the safe.

Fire protection

Fire protection

A fireproof safe protects your valuables not only from a fire, but above all from the high temperatures inside the safe and from water used for extinguishing. Since safes are made of metal and metal has very good heat-conducting properties, temperatures of up to 700 degrees Celsius can prevail inside a safe during a fire. At these temperatures, numerous items are destroyed. If you would like to store documents and data media in your safe, please choose a safe with a fire protection class according to EN 1047-1 or EN 15659 for your protection.

Equipment

Equipment and dimensions

If the selected installation site is limited, please select our models by adjusting the external dimensions (hxwxd) in cm in our navigation. If there is sufficient space, you can specify the internal dimensions (hxwxd) or the volume (in liters). You can also leave this point open for now and consider the equipment. It is better to plan for a little more space so that you do not need another safe in a few years. We offer you a different number of shelves or, for example, a separate internal compartment for smaller valuables.

If your security safe weighs less than 1000 kg, it should be firmly anchored to the floor or wall. Our employees are carefully trained in assembly and are happy to provide discreet delivery with installation.

Lock selection

Locking system

Our safes are generally supplied with a double-bit high-security lock. To avoid losing the key or to allow more people access to the safe than desired, we offer the option of upgrading the locking system. You can choose between an electronic combination lock and an electronic combination lock with emergency opening via key.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

A security cabinet according to EN 14450, tested to security level S1 or S2. It secures valuables where no resistance grade according to EN 1143-1 is required.

S2 withstands break-in attempts longer than S1 and qualifies for higher recognized insurance coverage amounts. Both levels fall under the EN 14450 standard.

As soon as your insurer requires a resistance grade according to EN 1143-1 or the value of the contents exceeds the limits for S1 and S2. Let’s look at this together.
