Safe Resistance Grade 3: Certified Security

A Grade 3 safe represents our third-highest certification. In numerous tests, the safes are subjected to real-world break-in attempts. Grade 3 denotes a resistance value of 80/120 RU. This resistance grade is not only a hallmark of quality but also serves as a basis for insurance coverage. For Grade 3, the ECB-S recommends insurance coverage of up to €200,000 for private use and up to €100,000 for commercial use. We deliver your order throughout Germany and, upon request, can also handle the installation at your desired location.

Key data for Grade 3 safes

Safes with Grade 3 resistance offer a high level of burglary protection. We build our security safes with multi-walled construction for both the body and the door. This is turned into a fortress by a special concrete mixture in the cavities, combined with a state-of-the-art locking mechanism. To receive official EN 1143-1 certification for Grade 3, the safe must pass comprehensive quality tests by the ECB-S and the VdS. During these, the security safe must demonstrate a resistance value of 80/120 RU ("Resistance Unit"). This certified Grade 3 level allows you to insure items in your safe up to a value of 200,000.00 EUR (for private use). For commercial use, the recommended sum insured is 100,000.00 EUR. This is why our Grade 3 safes are widely used by jewelers, banks, and collectors.

Fire protection

Security and fire protection

Burglary protection is defined by the Grade 3 resistance class according to EN 1143-1. Another enemy is the risk of fire, which particularly affects important paper documents. To protect against this as well, additional fire protection is recommended. Our Grade 3 safes already feature basic fire protection due to their compact design, which has been awarded the LFS 30P certification. This test includes a 30-minute fire exposure test.

You have the option to further increase fire safety with us. We offer Grade 3 safes in combination with enhanced S60P fire protection. To be awarded this certification, the safe must remain in a fire chamber at over 1000° C for 60 minutes. To simulate the collapse of floors, this certification also includes a drop test from a height of approximately 9 meters. After these tests, the security safe must remain functional and openable. The contents must also have withstood the fire perfectly and must not have experienced any internal temperature increases of more than 150 degrees Celsius. With this fire protection combined with Grade 3 resistance, you achieve a high overall level of security.

Certification Duration Test conditions
LFS30P 30 minutes Standard due to compact construction, without additional modification
S60P 60 minutes Fire chamber over 1000° C, drop test from approx. 9 meters, max. 150° C internal temperature

Grade 3 security safes in comparison

Grade 3 safes according to EN 1143-1 represent a high security class. Security classes are defined according to EN 1143-1 and are tested and certified by the ECB-S and the VdS. For light burglary protection in the private sector, there are EN 14450 guidelines for security cabinets. These certifications also include tests by the ECB-S and the VdS and are certified as S1 (Security Level 1) and S2 (Security Level 2). The outdated VDMA 24992 guidelines can also still be found. These guidelines are regulations for the construction of safes and vaults. These classes are divided into "A" and "B" and can be issued by the manufacturer themselves if the guidelines are met.
