Functionality and benefits of a deposit safe
Deposit safes combine two key functions: they reliably protect valuables such as cash, jewelry, or watches, while simultaneously allowing you to deposit items like cash bags, keys, or documents through a drawer or drop slot without having to open the safe itself.
Deposited items are stored securely inside until retrieved by authorized personnel. An integrated anti-fishing device reliably prevents items from being removed once deposited.
With the drawer system, the interior compartment locks automatically when the drawer is opened. Only after the drawer is fully closed does the content drop into the protected area of the deposit safe.
Modern deposit safes are generally equipped with an electronic combination lock, which allows for several individual user codes for authorized personnel. This ensures that only authorized users have access to the deposited items.
Product features and specifications of our deposit safes
Our deposit safes are available in various security levels, sizes, and deposit systems to meet a wide range of operational requirements. Depending on the model, dimensions, internal volume, weight, and the type of deposit technology vary, ranging from robust drawer systems to space-saving drop slots. For locking, there is a choice of various types of safe locks, such as double-bit key locks or electronic combination locks. This flexibility ensures that every deposit safe can be optimally integrated into existing processes while offering a high level of tamper protection.
Security levels
To ensure the quality of our deposit safes, they are tested by official inspection bodies ECB-S (European Certification Body) and VdS (VdS Schadenverhütung) and certified according to safe security levels. Insurance coverage is based on the security class. Our tested and certified deposit safes guarantee compliance with inspection standards. This is documented by a test label on the inside of the door.
Standard EN 1143-2 defines the testing procedures and requirements for deposit safes. Our deposit safes are subjected to extensive break-in tests using various mechanical and thermal tools. Only deposit safes that withstand these tests receive the corresponding certification from VdS or the ESSA (European Security Systems Association) and its testing institute, ECB-S. In its basic principle, EN 1143-2 does not differ from EN 1143-1, which is used to certify secure safes. However, additional tests are included, which primarily concern the deposit system.
With our Anubis, Midas, and Thanus deposit safes, which comply with security levels D1, D2, and D3 according to EN 1143-2, you can be sure that burglary-resistant storage of deposited items is combined with a tamper-proof deposit system. This certified security also provides you with the corresponding insurance coverage for your stored valuables. An overview of the estimated insurance sums as benchmarks of the insurance industry is provided below:
- Anubis (Class D1): commercial: €20,000
- Midas (Class D2): commercial: €50,000
- Thanus (Class D3): commercial: €100,000
With the Triton series, we also offer more compact deposit safe models that are ideal for daily use in smaller businesses. Due to their space-saving design, Triton deposit safes are frequently used in small shops, branch operations, or offices where secure and efficient storage of small amounts of cash is required. Employees can easily drop cash into the safe with the drop slot, while only authorized individuals have access to the contents later.
These deposit safes feature a tamper-proof deposit system and are tested and certified according to EN 14450 at security level S1. Insurance coverage should be coordinated individually with your insurance provider.
Areas of application
There are many areas of application for deposit safes. Due to the configuration options at Bremer Tresor, these deposit safes can be adapted to almost any conceivable scenario. If you are unable to find the right configuration, please contact us and we will find a solution together.
Deposit safes are mainly used for the securing and organization of valuables, such as cash holdings, till floats, cash bags, or important documents and files. Deposit safes are also frequently used in car dealerships or car rental companies to make it easier for customers, for example, to drop off or pick up vehicle keys. The following industries are mentioned as examples for the use of deposit safes:
- Bakeries: Securing daily revenues through tamper-proof deposits, robbery protection during operations.
- Car rental companies: Key returns via drop slot for 24h service, tamper-proof.
- Gastronomy: Depositing cash bags during shifts, secure cash organization.
- Supermarkets: Protection of large cash sums, adjustment of the security level to cash holdings.
- Gas stations: High security despite 24h opening times, protection against robberies.
Equipment
At Bremer Tresor, you will receive your deposit safe with the equipment that perfectly matches your area of application and installation site. You choose between a robust deposit drawer and a space-saving drop slot: drawers are optimal for heavy valuables bags or coins, while drop slots are suitable for documents, envelopes, or loose banknotes. Our models, from the compact Triton 60 to the high-volume Thanus 130, cover a wide range of sizes, weights, and resistance grades. Depending on security requirements, they are certified according to EN 14450 (security level S1) or EN 1143-2 (resistance grade D1 to D3) and thus offer tested protection for various values.
A double-bit key lock is available as standard for locking. Optionally, modern electronic versions with 6- to 8-digit codes or models with emergency opening are available. Fingerprint locks additionally allow opening via authorized fingerprint. Thanks to precise sensor technology, these are tamper-proof.
Many of our deposit safes, including Anubis, Midas, or Ammon, offer flexible mounting options: the deposit system can be mounted at the front, side, or rear, including protruding for wall installation. This allows the safes to be perfectly integrated into existing processes. The combination of tested security, customizable technology, and user-friendly design makes every deposit safe a long-term, reliable solution for trade, retail, and service providers.
