- No key required; instead, use a code that can be changed at any time. Multiple user codes are possible, and staff changes do not require removing the lock. Many insurers expressly prefer this type.
- Kaba Mauer Combi
- The premium option among electronic locks, offering high operational security and audit trail functions. Common where access logs must be traceable.
- RFID lock
- Open via card or transponder, practical for frequent access and many users, such as in businesses with shift operations.

What you need to know for operations
An electronic lock requires batteries, which provide notice well before they run out. If a warning is missed, opening the safe is still possible, usually via an external power source on the housing. With a double-bit lock, the focus is on key storage. The spare key should not be kept in the same apartment or the same drawer as the primary key. Recommendations for this can be found under Secure key storage.
