Buying Grade 1 Safes

You can order Grade 1 safes from us that have been tested and certified according to the official EN 1143-1 guidelines. Safes with EN 1143-1 certification have a resistance value of 30/50 RU. RU stands for "Resistance Unit". This is a unit determined through actual break-in attempts by official testing bodies. Thus, our EN 1143-1 certified safes guarantee a defined level of burglary protection, on which insurance values can be based. With a Grade 1 safe, the European testing institute ECB-S (European Certification Board - Security Systems) recommends protecting and insuring valuables for private use up to a value of €65,000.00. For commercial use, the insurance sum amounts to €20,000.00.

Protection against fire

At Bremer Tresor, you will find a large selection of safes with various burglary and fire protection levels. You therefore have the option to combine your safe with fire protection to secure your belongings against loss due to fire. As with burglary protection, there are official testing bodies and certificates for fire protection in safes. Safes are categorized into different fire protection classes, which involve different test durations. The fire protection classes LFS 30 P, S 60 P, and S 120 P guarantee fire protection for 30, 60, and 120 minutes, respectively, with a maximum internal temperature increase of 150° C. Other fire protection classes include S 60 DIS and S 120 DIS, which were specifically developed for securing data media. For data media, a maximum temperature increase of 30° C applies to ensure their unrestricted functionality after a fire. You have the option to combine your Grade 1 safe with all fire protection classes.

Dimensions and features of your safe

Selecting the correct burglary and fire protection level is the priority; afterwards, you can choose the right size for your needs. This gives you the assurance that your valuables receive high security, primarily through the resistance grade and fire protection.
The appropriate size can depend on two factors:

• The space required inside the safe to store your valuables.
• The space available in the area where your safe will be placed. Thanks to our modern manufacturing, we are confident we can find the perfect solution for every niche.

We offer various options for the perfect outfitting of your safe:

• Additional shelves to further subdivide the interior
• An interior safe that provides you with a separately lockable compartment

Locks and locking systems

Every product selected from our range can be equipped with different locks. As standard, every safe is already equipped with a double-bit high-security lock with safety level 1 (incl. 2 keys), which is included in the price. However, you can also equip your safe model with one of the following locks:

Electronic combination lock

This lock can be opened with a code of up to 8 digits. The digits are entered via an electronic keypad.

Electronic combination lock incl. override

This lock is a combination of an electronic combination lock and a double-bit key lock. You can then open your safe using a numerical code or, in an emergency, with a key.

Fingerprint lock

This lock can only be opened with stored fingerprints. Verification is performed via a small scanner on the lock.

Shipping and installation

Shipping by freight carrier is free of charge. You do not have to worry about how to get your safe to your location, despite its weight. We are happy to deliver your safe "curbside." However, if stairs must be navigated during transport, this constitutes professional safe installation, which is also possible. We are capable of moving your order to almost any location using our own internal logistics department and are active throughout our entire delivery area. An individual quote will be provided once you send us a few details about the site conditions.

Safes in comparison

A safe according to EN 1143-1 features a multi-walled body as well as a multi-walled door. The official VdS and ECB-S testing institutes have extensively tested our products, ensuring you can count on quality burglary protection based on the VdS class. Grade 1 safes according to EN 1143-1 are subject to the guidelines for safes, which are available in classes N/0 to 6. Other standards, such as EN 14450 (S1 and S2/safety level 1 and safety level 2) or the VDMA guidelines, correspond to safes referred to as security cabinets.
