When a new safe is more worth it than a repair
With old units, the question of replacement arises sooner or later. Three factors help in the decision: If the test label on the inside of the door is missing, the safe will not be recognized by any insurance company. If the body is warped or rusted, the locking mechanism cannot be permanently repaired. And if spare parts for a lock are no longer manufactured, a repair only delays the problem.
In all other cases, repair is usually the more cost-effective path, and we will tell you honestly which situation applies to you.
